Sometimes it is really hard to hold on to life when all you want to do is let it go.

You want to wait until things look a little better, a little easier before you start to fully live again.

Unfortunately there is a good chance that, the perfect day just never comes.

The perfect day when you can do all the things you want to do in your life.

I am here to tell you that the perfect day to begin your life is the most imperfect day.

The day you find yourself in the woods and in the dark, that is the day you can walk out the life you no longer want.

I know this can be so hard to believe.

Waiting for daylight, a summer weather and the perfect walk on the beach might not be the way out of pain, loss and grief.

You see, desperation lives in the woods, and that is where you have made your home.

It may not look like the woods because you have been so used to living in darkness.

Your brain has made it normal.

It has made it easier.

Grief also lives there, with the rain and the cold.

I also wanted to wait for the sun and the blue sky to exit my log cabin of loss.

I wanted to wait for daylight and summer weather.

And I did wait.

But one day, the most imperfect day when my discomfort of the woods grew more, I started running.

Running away from the life I had built inside my grief.

If I hadn’t, I would have been waiting for the sun to come out forever, as it might have never found my grief.

Along my path I found so many people just waiting for a better day, more money, less grief and more strength and what they didn’t realize is that the only way towards the sun is through the front door while its raining and its dark.

The light will rarely come to you, you have to go find it.

If today is a really bad day, with dark clouds and a heavy heart it may just be the day you have been waiting for.

It may just be the day to take that first step towards a new life, a new career, a new way of living.

Choose the most imperfect day to start over and walk out in the rain.

Be proud of your strength to step outside of the comfort of your discomfort.

Please share your step so everyone can see you dancing in the rain right here.

With imperfection,
